Brief Introduction
PCD Shaving Dies Tungsten Carbide Peeling Dies for Copper Aluminum Wire
Shaving dies, also called peeling die, is mainly used to remove the oxide layer on the surface of the wire, remove defects, dirt or other coatings on the surface of copper wire, aluminum wire, iron wire and other materials, so that the drawn products have higher quality.
Peeling or shaving is a mechanical processing method that uses the cutting principle of metal to remove the oxide layer, dirty layer or other coatings on the surface of the wire or profile, in order to let the wire surface has a metallic luster.
Applications:
Non-ferrous wires: copper wire, brass wire, aluminum wire, gold wires and titanium wires, etc.
Ferrous wires: high-carbon, low-carbon, stainless, steel alloys and other steels, etc.
Types:
PCD shaving dies; (1mm to 20mm)
Tungsten carbide peeling dies.(1mm to 80mm)
Comparison of PCD and TC shaving dies:
Polycrystalline Diamond Shaving Dies
Advantages: longer life, good consistency, high wear resistance and impact resistance.
Disadvantages: Higher unit price, longer preparation time.
TC Peeling Dies
Advantages: The cost is cheaper than PCD type and high temperature resistance;
Disadvantages: shorter life, poor wire consistency, surface defects.
According to the use method and structure of the shaving dies, the following aspects should be paid attention to in the production and use:
(1) The bearing zone of the peeling die is the core and the key to stable peeling and stretching. The length of the bearing is preferably 1 to 5 mm according to the size of the hole, and the surface roughness of the bearing is less than 0.2 μm.
(2) The α value of the edge angle of the peeling die is generally 12-30°. If the α angle is too small, the edge will not be sharp, and if the α angle is too large, the edge strength is not enough, which is easy to cause the edge to drop and shorten its life. Generally, the peeling angle of non-ferrous metal pipes and rods such as red copper, brass, cupronickel, and aluminum is suitable for an α angle of 30°, and for general ferrous metals, an α angle of 15° is appropriate.(3) The function of the α angle of the outer cutting edge of the peeling die: one is to reduce the movement resistance of the peeling chips, which is convenient for chip removal; the other is that the surface roughness of the outer cutting edge should be less than 0.2μm, and its frictional resistance should be minimized.
(4) The peeling amount of the peeling mold is generally 0.1~0.2mm. If the peeling amount is too thick, the cutting edge of the mold will be damaged, and the material to be peeled will be wasted; If the amount of peeling is too small, it is easy to be unable to peel or unilateral phenomenon.
(5) The installation of the peeling die should be firm, and the cutting edge of the die should be perpendicular to the drawing direction, and ensure that it is concentric with the drawing center.
Now our company can produce 1mm-20mm PCD shaving die and 1mm-80mm carbide peeling dies, which can be produced and processed according to the drawings provided by customers.
